More than 3,000 installed systems means thousands of different floor plans, user habits and technical challenges. Alarm Centar has built its experience on projects in Croatia and Germany, from small homes to large outdoor complexes. Experience gained protecting many different types of property

Among the projects we are particularly proud of is the surveillance system for the fountains by the National and University Library in Zagreb. We contracted the job in 2016 as a partner and subcontractor of Vodotehnika d.d., following a recommendation that soon led the investor, the City of Zagreb, to bring us in directly as well.

A completely different task awaited us at the Kraš Eco Park – Krašograd. Across more than 400 hectares, we had to design video surveillance for apartments, bungalows, lakes, playgrounds, sports grounds and farms. Kraš's management hired us in 2013, and the size of the area called for careful planning of camera positions and signal transmission.

A stand-alone siren can alert the neighbours and deter a burglar, but it doesn't guarantee that anyone will respond in time. By connecting the alarm system to a monitoring centre, the incident signal reaches an operator immediately. This is particularly important at night, during holidays or while business premises are empty.

What happens after the alarm is triggered

When a detector registers an unauthorised entry, the system sounds the siren and sends a signal to the monitoring centre. The operator can see which property and zone the alert is coming from and follows a pre-agreed protocol.

Depending on the type of event and the contracted service, the procedure may include:

• Verifying the alert and contacting the owner
• Notifying the people listed in the protocol
• Dispatching a response team or calling the relevant authorities
